CALAX: Cavite-Laguna Expressway
The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) project is a high-speed road network between the Cavite and Laguna provinces located south of Manila in the Philippines. The Silang-Aguinaldo Interchange of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) will open by September 2023, cutting your Tagaytay trips shorter at just 20 minutes from this new exit.
CALAX is a 45-kilometer toll road that will connect Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway and the South Luzon Expressway. It has eight interchanges:
- Technopark
- Laguna Boulevard
- Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road
- Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo)
- Governor's Drive
- Open Canal
- Kawit Interchange
- a toll barrier before South Luzon Expressway (SLEX)
East end: AH 26 (E2) (SLEX) / Greenfield Parkway / LIIP Avenue in Biñan
Major cities: Santa Rosa, Biñan, General Trias, Imus, Dasmariñas
The CALAX project will improve traffic flow by minimizing congestion on Governor’s Drive, Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road, and Aguinaldo Highway. It is expected to reduce the travel time between CAVITEX and SLEX from the current 90 minutes to approximately 45 minutes.
It will also provide efficient transportation links for approximately 11 billion people living in the Cavite and Laguna provinces, as well as benefit economic zones within the area.
In addition, the project will help promote the Calabarzon (Region IV-A) region as a preferred destination for investment and growth.
